21st at Old Hickory A really tough tournament, but I came away with a 21st place finish out of 256 boats. I caught all my fish on a Spinnerbait and a Brovarney Baits swim jig. That concluded my '06 tournament year. I'm already making plans for '07 and anxiously await the upcoming season. Thank you and I"ll see you on the water. **************************************************** July 30th - MSBC - LAX We really didn't get a chance to pre-fish for this tournament, so we just out and poked around. We pulled into our starting spot to find some locals camped out and hooking everything that we knew was there. Not much we could do then so we moved on and found some other fish, but poor execution on our part resulted in several missed quality fish. Didn't bother us too much for the little time put into this. We'll be more prepared for the 20th. **************************************************** July 16th - Wal-Mart BFL - PDC Having missed the cut for the Stren Series just two days
earlier, I left for PDC Friday morning for a day of pre-fishing for
Saturday's BFL. I knew the water conditions were the same as the
upper pools, and despite only a few hours practice, I managed a small
limit. 3 limits in a 4 days isn't that bad and I feel I've got great
momentum heading into the MSBC in a few weeks. **************************************************** July 12-13th - FLW Stren Series Man was it hot out!! Temps were in the upper 90's but I
managed to stay cool and I feel I had a pretty good tournament. I
caught limits on both days 1 and 2. I lost one fish on day one that
cost me a check, but I'm happy for my performance. I ended up with
just over 22pounds for 2 days and really look forward to fishing the full
Stren Series hopefully next year. Here I am below weighing in my
12.3lb. day 1 bag. **************************************************** June 17th - BFL Winneconne This is by far one of the toughest bodies of water I have fished. A monster body of water, but not a whole lot there. The entire week there I bet I only caught 6 or 7 keepers total, and only 1 on tournament day, and I didn't even weigh him in. Looking forward to getting back on a true river system in July for the Stren and BFL tourneys. results **************************************************** June 11th - MSBC My fishing partner--Brian Christianson and I had a pretty good tournament. We worked a pattern we had found earlier in the week and it went well for just over 17lbs. 18th Place overall. We made no real mental mistakes nor did anything to lose us any poundage. For a tough field of competitors, we were pleased and look forward to the July 30th outing. Results Here we are below checking the weight of our fish. I'm on the left and BC to the right.
**************************************************** May 13th - MSBC Today couldn't have been a more miserable day. It started off in the low 40's, rainy and windy to boot. Needless to say we were freezing after a couple of hours. With water temps dropping nearly 10 degrees in 3 days, fishing had become tough. Area's that produced during pre-fishing were now void of fish. We were running and gunning all day, and managed only 5 keepers for <11lbs. It wasn't for nothing though as the entire field struggled. Only 16 limits brought into the scales. We managed to stay in the top 25 and with the weather not changing much going into this weeks BFL event, I'm actually feeling very confident. We'll see what happens this week though, as if there is one thing about fishing in May, it's you never know what tomorrow can bring. results **************************************************** April 30th - Casting for Kids Today was a horrible day outside. Cold, wet, rainy, and windy. We had to move the Casting Kids competition indoors at Bala Harley Davidson in Mauston, WI. We still had some good numbers of kids show up and we had a great time. Thanks to Bala Harley Davidson and Dan Mancini for inviting me down, I'll be looking forward to doing it again next year!! **************************************************** April 22nd - Spring Fling Results. The Spring Fling tournament was a nice start to the season. We caught lots of fish and had our limit in the boat by 11a.m. or so. We were able to cull a few fish out and ended up with 8 fish for just under 19lbs. We ran into some bad luck towards the end of the tournament (boat troubles) but we were just able to make it in on time to weigh in. Good start to the year and I'll be looking to expand on it for the MSBC coming up in early may. ****************************************************** RIP Berkley Sad news , we lost our youngest Choc. Lab puppy Berkley. He was struck and killed by a passing vehicle. He felt no pain and is a good place now. I will miss you more than you know.
****************************************************** The Madison Fishing Expo. was a great success this weekend. I had the chance to meet a ton of great people while working at the Brovarney Baits Booth. If I happened to miss you this past weekend, look for me at the Omni Center Expo. coming up here in a few weeks. The below picture from left to right is Brian Christianson, Dan Brovarney, and myself: I would also like to thank Dan Folberg from Road Star Inn for taking our fishing crew out to dinner. We had a great time and everything was delicious. ****************************************************** Ranger Boats Pro-Staff Just a quick note that I've been communicating with WI Ranger Boats Rep Steve Lindahl and have committed to working with Ranger Boats through Holmen Marine. We just attended the La Crosse Boat, Sport, and Travel show this past weekend and it was a huge success. I would like to thank both Steve Lindahl and all the guys at Holmen Marine for putting things together. I look forward to working with both Ranger and Holmen in the future!! ****************************************************** I'm a Wisconsin based tournament bass angler, aspiring to turn pro full time. This is my personal site with information on tournaments I'm fishing, pictures, links, tips, articles, info on products I use, along with other items. I've been tournament fishing for several years and I know I'm in a position to make a run at doing this full time. I know there are several thousand anglers that are out there trying to make it as well and the road won't be easy, but I have the ambition and self motivation it takes to make it. I encourage you to take a look around my site. I'll be updating it periodically until the tournament season begins, then I'll have weekly updates. I have a great group of Sponsors and I urge you to check out their products and/or Services. If you'd like to contact me for anything, feel free. Good fishing and I'll see you on the Water!!
